Problem or Motivation
Many students are interested in robotics but lack hands-on exposure. The goal was to make practical robotics learning accessible through affordable and repeatable kit-based workshops.
What I Built
- Modular hardware kit with simple assembly and troubleshooting guides.
- Step-by-step curriculum covering sensing, control, and autonomous behavior basics.
- Reusable workshop infrastructure for mentors and facilitators.
Tools and Technologies Used
- Arduino-based control boards and sensor kits
- CAD for enclosure and mount design
- Python and embedded exercises for introductory robotics workflows
My Role and Contributions
- Led kit architecture, activity sequencing, and documentation approach.
- Facilitated workshops and refined content based on participant feedback.
- Coordinated logistics and quality checks for repeat events.
Challenges and Lessons Learned
- Hardware durability needed improvements for repeated transport and setup.
- Clear instructions greatly reduced onboarding time for beginners.
- Community impact grows when engineering is taught through building.
